![]() To provide additional financial support for shelter operations, in 2013 Noah’s Ark launched The Noah's Ark Thrift Store – an upscale thrift store benefiting the shelter, which makes up a significant portion of our annual budget. ![]() Hunters justify their practices by stating that they eat their kills like if that makes it acceptable. ![]() In an article back in 2013, more than 140,000 wild animals were hunted and killed in Trinidad and Tobago over a three year period. Grants are also used to fund our numerous programs, the biggest being for privately owned animal spay/neuters, shelter animal spay/neuters, and our transfer program. Hunting should be banned in this country for GOOD. Funding for our operations is through a city contract, fees for services and adoptions, and donations. Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association is a private 501C3 nonprofit organization. Our transfer program and network allows us to be a vital cog in the efforts of saving more lives. We have a 100% placement rate of all adoptable pets. We are not a space or time constraint facility. We persistently work and proactively advocate toward loving forever homes for pets that find their way to us as surrenders, strays, or through our transfer program from another shelter. ![]() As a result of the efforts of this pioneer group, Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association took over the day-to-day operations of the City of Trinidad Animal Shelter in 2001. Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association started as a foster-based program in 1998 by a group of concerned citizens seeking proper and humane animal care in the Trinidad area. It is the mission of Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association to work collaboratively increasing the life-saving capacity of dogs & cats within our region while maintaining a safe and comfortable home for every dog & cat in Las Animas County. ![]()
